Just a cautionary comment. Yesterday I left my laptop on sleep mode and put it back into the sleeve and in my bag. 3 hours later I went to take it out and it was really hot !! Seems it must of still has power on somehow even though it was in sleep mode. It wouldn't switch on at first. Battery was over half charged when I last used it. It was still hot when I got it home even having disconnected the battery. Anyway, all ended well and it powered up from cable. So use sleep with caution.

You can always upgrade to 2 meg if you need it. I would think you'd be fine with recording music, the files are a lot smaller than video. 160 gig is a lot of space and you can always copy what you want to archive to external hard drives.

Try using hybernate instead of sleep, it saves your stuff then shuts down. Quicker startup than an actual shutdown but safer than sleep. Sleep mode is basicly just a low power state not actually turning the pc off.

technically nebooks have a slower procesor and less space and power, but longer battery life and really light weight. they are taylored for basic tasks on the go (browsing, email, notepad). don't expect the full capability of a full laptop (large downloads, dvd drive, gaming), but for what it's intended for, it's great. im very happy with mine.
