ATV's Sunday Night at the London Palladium was a TV institution in the 50s and 60s. This is a special recording, at Abbey Road Studios London in 2004, of the theme music played by the Royal Ballet Sinfonia. Music composed by Eric Rogers, arranged and conducted by Gavin Sutherland.

  • Wonderful stuff, such memories. Watching on Sunday night with mum and dad and the rest of the family.....all those years ago! I always liked this piece and found a section of it at the end of an EP of the songs which Robert Horton from Wagon Train sang the night he topped the bill. I know there is a DVD set of some of the shows (which I have) but is this particular arrangement available commercially?

  • @Yourewastingyourtime I believe it's currently available on a Vocalion CD "What A Carry On!", along with music from the Carry On films, from the same recording session at Abbey Road in 2004. Try the Vocalion website

  • BRINGS tears to my eyes .... I am 65 this friday [11/11/11] and I so well loved Sunday Night at the London Palladium ........ the high-emotion of this theme COMBINED with Bruce Forsyth's 'closeness' to everyone + his theatricality PLUS the REVOLVING STAGE @ The End with all the artists on board. It really was that amazing ..... thanks ricardo for this link ..♬♬♬
