What could easily redeem this one would be to make a part 2 to close everything off and return the series more towards its' original roots, while having a little more connection to the original kite as well.

This looks retarded. It has nothing to do with Kite OVA and it even seems in a different universe. The Kite OVA was grounded in a realistic, dirty world. While this one has to do with outerspace travel and alien monsters?
