So apparently the thing to do with ELAPOR (ie. Twinstar/EasyStar) to get big dings out of it is to use boiling water to cause the foam to re-expand and fill the gaps back in.

This is a video of me boiling the nose of my Twinstar II in order to try to fix the crushed nose before I painted it.

It worked OK.

The problem was the foam 'bubbles' each expand and cause a really bumpy surface. I took the back of a spoon and smoothed it back out again afterwards and that helped. Then there was some sanding and spackling before I continued to paint it. It didn't work as well as I'd hoped, but better than I expected.

  • not really he hoped it would be perfect but expected nothin. if it did anything than there u go

  • "It didn't work as well as I'd hoped, but better than I expected" is a contradiction.
