The City of Toronto, the Toronto District School Board and the Province of Ontario all claim they don't have a paltry $12M to stop the closures of 78 perfectly good school swimming pools. As a TDSB trustee in February 2002, Kathleen Wynne is quoted as saying, "the board and the city continue to work together to persuade the provincial government to provide funding for swimming pools in schools." Now as provincial education minister of a government elected to reverse former Conservative Premier Mike Harris' cutbacks and which also now has a budget surplus of $2.3 billion in 2007 (approaching $1 billion this year), she's changed her tune and says it's up to the TDSB to find the money to save the pools. The city claims poverty too, although it had no problem coughing up $30M for one weekend of snow removal in February - snow that would have melted in a few days anyway. The poor kids who are losing their pools are mere pawns in this nasty game of politicking.

Fuck RH King, why the fuck should you immigrants get schools when the TCDSB is struggling to even keep it's own schools open? You greedy bastards are whining about god forbid not having a pool, when our school's have to take out there chapels, teacher offices and library's in order to have enough room. Fuck RH King, It's either dirty brown fuckers or Trash White kids, in the end your all the same.

Why the fuck do we not have money for swimming pools but we have money to put cops in the schools?
It's like they want the kids to have nothing to do after school so they go get into trouble and they can put them in jail.

Anyone else think the board is only just trying to line their pockets and obviously don't care about the students?
