Both countries are "police states that oppress freedom of speech, religion, and civil liberties for the goals of either a dictator or a single party state." However China is a Socialist police state. Communism can't exist in a capitalist society which China is, ruthlessly.

You are too harsh. There is more to the story. Overall the development and dams are good and many live much better because of them. Dams are glorious as they are also renewable energy. Stop being so negative and see the positive too.
