Joe gans fought the day before langford fight.He then had to take the train from philly to boston. He dominated the early rounds but wore out later on. Sam Langford won the latter rounds. Crowd thought gans should have been given the decision. Langford was heavier by quite a bit. Langford also said that joe gans was the greatest fighter ever!

@hearns00001 Langford and Gans was fighting in the beggining of the 1900 century and with Langford winning a 15 round decision,

@gregluland Langford was a very smal Heavyweight, and went up and down in weight a lot.. But thay actually fought in 1903, with Langford declared the winner on points after 15 rounds.

@boxingnut1986 No Langford beat him. But it was non title because of Langfords weight but Langford was a novice

@K1LL4K Even so,, Sam was only a 20 fight rookie when he fought Gans. Not many fighters with that level of experience would have beaten him, regardless of how much he'd traveled the previous day.
