On board the Queen Mary ship in Long Beach, California 1993. The Monkees Micky Dolenz. This video is a copy of a copy so the image quality is not very good. The Song written by Buddy Johnson, originally sung by Lenny Welch in 1963

When you just give love
And never get love
Youd better let love depart

I know its so
And yet, I know
I cant get you out of my heart

You made me leave my happy home
You took my love and now youre gone
Since I fell for you

Love brings such misery and pain
Guess Ill never feel the same
Since I fell for you

Well, its too bad
And its so sad
That Im in love with you

First, you love me
Then you snub me
What can I do?
When Im still in love with you

I guess Ill never see the light
I get the blues most every night
Since I fell for you

(Solo)

Well, its too bad
And its so sad
That Im in love with you

First, you love me
Then you snub me
Well, what can I do?
Im still in love with you

I guess Ill never see the light
I get the blues most every night
Since I fell for you

Since I Since I Since I fell for you

  • Please post the video that we did with Eddie Serrano, and I singing back ground at the L.A. ZOO, AND AT THE SAN DIEGO ZOO IN THE EARLY 90'S

  • Go Micky, didn't know you could sing da blues!

  • Truly though, I couldn't have paid close attention the first time, because my honest opinion is that it's great.

And there is no "right" or wrong key. Just as long as the band is playing in the preferred key of the singer, which is whats happening here.

Anyway, I'm a big fan of Mickey, and this tune, and I enjoyed the post very much, so thanks a lot. Very cool.

  • No, you didn't sound snooty, I wouldn't know the right key if it bit me on the leg, I just happened to see Ron yesterday and remembered to ask. Also, you didn't need to remove your original comment, it was a true commentary of your personal opinion.

  • I must have had wax in my ears when I first watched this, ...they do a great rendition. Mickey sounds great with them. Awesome in fact. I didn't mean to sound snooty. Your pals band is dynamite.

  • On 10/1/09 I asked my buddy (and the guitarist on this video) Ron Reyes how the band learned the song "Since I Fell" and he said that Micky gave them the song and said to play it in the key of G major 7th. So basically, this song is played in the correct key, according to Micky Dolenz.

  • , ,,,,,,,,,get behind those drums

  • I like the way he sang "Going Down" better.

  • Just so you know, it's the MONKEES, not Monkeys. Great vid! :-)
