High-power rocketry Level 3 certification. I built this rocket in about 2 months. It's powered by a Loki M1882. It went closer to 7000' than the 9000' I was hoping for, but what can you do.

  • what type of fuel is in it?

  • The propellant is APCP, Ammonium Perchlorate Composite Propellant. Technically speaking the "fuel" is probably a mixture of rubber and aluminum, while the oxidizer is ammonium perchlorate. I bought it in this case -- when certifying you aren't allowed to use a homemade motor or propellant, it has to be certified. Basically all certified HPR motors today are solid (APCP-based, to my knowledge) or hybrid (some mixture of phases, most commonly solid fuel and liquid or gas oxidizer).
