You're not far wrong about Buddha. He achieved enlightenment by forsaking all earthly matters and material goods. Basically, he stopped giving a shit. The only thing that isn't true is that Buddha was fat. Buddha actually looked like the Buddha statues you typically find in southeast Asia; he was actually a very svelte man.
