Actually, the choreography for the movie was done by Hermes Pan, noted for working with Fred Astaire.

The woman he's dancing with is Carol Haney who was the original 'Gladys Hotchkiss' in the Pajama Game. This is also the role that introduced the world to Shirley MacLaine, who replaced Ms Haney when she broke her ankle. If that hadn't happened MacLaine would never have been recognized by Hitchcock and wouldn't have been asked to do 'The Trouble with Harry', her screen debut.

It does look Kelly-esque! I think the woman dancing with Fosse was Gene Kelly's wife, or later became his wife... I know she was in KmK, but not positive this is her.

It is classic Fosse surely. You could see all the elements that madehis unique style here. Amazing how young he started.
