Leopard vs Vista startup and shutdown

A video comparing the startup and shutdown time of Mac OS X Leopard, and Windows Vista. The song playing is by Mägo de Oz, called Ciudad de los Arboles, and no copy right was intended. The song belongs to them not me! :) Anyway... the Vaio has 4gb RAM while the Mac only has 2... they have mostly the same programs installed and Leopard was still faster. The Mac's processor is faster, and that black screen at the beginning where the PC took longest... it started to happen a couple of weeks after bought. It has no virus, or trojans... it just started to do that after a while when more programs where added to it. Hopefully when I upgrade it to Windows 7 Professional next week this will cease to happen! The copy I have of Win 7 is not an illegal copy, it's a copy that MSDN provides the students of affiliated universities with.

vista is so slow i could go to the bathroom read the newspaper come back and it still wouldn't be loaded

Hard drive space has nothing to do with how fast a computer boots...

you're kidding, 4 minutes to start the computer??
but you cant complain, the pc has at least 5 programs that start together with the system.
i would die if my pc took that long to startup; it actualy takes 39s to do it (win 7 x64)

It depends on what the computer properties and how much space the computers Hard drive has left the pc probably close to only a gig left and the mac would have heeps left

ofcourse the vista will be slow dont you see how many apps runned on startup the sidebar needs a minute on its own
and im not arguing which is better because i know that leopard is 100X better but just to be fair

My HP G60 Vista laptop boots completely in under 60 seconds.. although the mac still has that beat. Your pc must not have much RAM, or it's loading too many processes at startup.

The PC has more RAM than my Mac, and I guess the PC DOES have a lot of processes at startup... but not enough to make it this slow.
