Fan of Tony, but why the sing sing sing tom thing on Caravan? And why the tacky sounding mission impossible guitar carrying the melody? Was it all just for audience familiarity? I mean he could have done ANY song to chop over. Just didn't think this paid homage to Ellington or Blakey--noteable performers of this tune--very well. Felt a bit like he was playing jazz for the sake of playing jazz... kinda lame imo. Guess it was cool that he made it his own, just don't forget the tradition.
