@Neyober That's the beauty of it, you're right... it's a religion, complete with mysticism, beliefs, commandments about right and wrong and how to live your life, and a leader/prophet who claims some connection to the great unknown... and yet its practitioners believe it's not a religion. This is a case where simply saying something isn't true doesn't make it not true.
@ReneAmhof So you say. By the way, I'm a white American man. I have encountered many Falun Gong practitioners in my time and they all struck me in much the same way as Jehovah's Witness and Mormons do. I don't think this is a coincidence. The meditations and exercises may or may not work for you. I've heard they do wonderful things for some people. In any case, Li Hongzhi, however, is definitely a cult leader, and his followers are cultists.
@XinBiDe instead of just blindly listening to out of context comments in this video that were skillfully put together by of the most sophisitcated experts in propaganda (the Chinese govt.), you should take a moment of your life and read Li Hongzhi's works yourself and perhaps connect with people who actually practice Falun Gong before making any such debasing comments about Li Hongzhi.
@Neyober Keep an open mind yourself - I could be totally correct and you could be living out the saying "ignorance is bliss". Li Hongzhi is not a god, a prophet, or anything other than a cult leader just like Jim Jones.
@XinBiDe Let's suppose that your understanding is right. If he is what you think he claims, and if it's true you would never know and it would be to late for you. Remember to keep an open mind, you never know.
Forgive-me I'm not trying to be disrespectful, just stating a fact. Falun Gong is good I practice for 11 years and had never been more healthy, wiser, and obtained a lot more moral standards as a human being thanks to he's teachings. Good luck in your path of life.
@XinBiDe Forgive-me but you should research a little more before say something that is not true.
In any kind of conversation one should be sure about what he's saying, because if you had done your homework instead of just posting a comment, you would know that Falung Gong is not a religion, that's the beauty of it.
@XinBiDe Actually Falun Dafa was practiced in the west and other "non-chinese" countries before there was any persecution and during the period when the Chinese Government actually Supported the practice when lots of officials and high ranking figures practiced it in China. It was known before the crackdown started in 1999, But of course there shouldn't be a persecution. Millions in China are negativly effected by the Governments illegal persecution.
@XinBiDe technically it's not a religion having neither form or rituals, but it certainly does have a profound spiritual dimension. Anyone can practice it regardless as long as they want to but of course cultivation practice is about looking within and improving yourself using these principles. Many people who practice it go through profound changes. improving health and moral values. Just curious, have you read Zhuan Falun ?
@eroddy84 Tolerance of what, exactly? Falun Gong openly condemns homosexuals, and it only panders to non-Chinese to increase its global support and put pressure on the Chinese government from outside of China's borders. That's not tolerance. Many of the principles are "good" in that they are calisthenic exercises, but are they mystical or spiritually based? Falun Gong, like any other religion, is based in fantasy and nonsense. Falun Gong practitioners find peace at the cost of one's mind.
lol! lee is so hilarious~ this shit is funnier than Scientology XD
