And there I stood, and I hollered someone fade me.

I LOVE this version more than any other - my only regret is that Don Henley didn't keep the original lyrics, which would have given it such oomph - Frank Loesser knew what he was about - his original lyrics are sheer genius:
"For the people all said beware
You're on a heavenly trip
People all said beware
Beware, you'll scuttle the ship.
And the devil will drag you under
By the fancy tie 'round your wicked throat"
and "And as I laughed at those passengers to heaven" - Henley's music fits.

I actually remember hearing this one--quite a few times on the radio as a child--I think on 104.3 K Rock. In fact, that's how I was first introduced to this song--and was rather surprised that the song actually originated from Guys and Dolls--when I later saw the musical and recognized the lyrics despite the change of the melody.

I love the song and the movie! I had to listen to it tonight as an idiot coworker rocked the boat today. He really needs to sit down and shut up!

it actually was played on radio too

Check out the Wikipedia article "Sit_Down,_You're_Rockin'_the_
Boat". It's short but interesting. I just saw Leap of Faith again and just had to check out the song one more time. The song has been around longer than you might think... ;) -
It was many years ago now but I remember seeing a video for a version that sounded a lot like this... I could have sworn it was Sting but my searches are only turning this up.

I think this version was only ever played on the radio once. It was played on 93Q in Syracuse, and there's a sound clip of it on YouTube (that's the first place I ever heard it).
