House Piggies - A Short Documentary on Guinea Pigs as House Pets

A film I shot and edited for a small assignment in my documentary class. I'm the guy with the scraggly beard. :) Guinea Pigs are wonderful pets, just don't buy them from a pet store. Pet store breeders in-breed and house the pigs in terrible environments. The percentage of purchasing a guinea pig at a pet store with a disease is about 90%. It's terrible to bond to your pet, or have your child bond to a pet, only to have it die a month later. Buy them from your local breeders. You'll thank me for it.

I wanted a dog but instead of getting a dig I got 2 guinea girls, one of them was pregnant, so ´when the guinea pig were born it was a boy, it lived alone so I took one more guine pig so it wouldn't be alone and now I have 4 pigs ^_^

@Ichigoofficial Mama was pregnant when we got her, but we didn't know either. She gave birth to 2 boys, but we gave them away. But, we since got a third all white female pig :)

I have 2 female guineapigs and one male, the younger female guinea pig was pregnant when I got her, and like hmm 1 week ago gave birth to 3 lilttle furry balls, not sure the gender yet, gotta wait one more week to be sure. This pets are soo perfect, active, adorkable and huggable. They make cute noises and if you care for them, they can get really bond to the owner.

Just don`t buy from breeders, there are lots of guinea pigs looking for a home at the pet shelter :(

i have a dog but i can't WAIT to get a guinea pig :D I moved house so my room isnt decorated so everythings cluttered around. I would rather just spend time with my piggy than just decorating. How many piggys do you hve at the minute?
