Great idea but I'm not convinced that the AMD cpu is the right way to go. It's fairly unusual and IBM would never have used the thinkpad line for 'testing new hardware'. I would actually have preferd an Atom-chip even though it has lower performance; it's way more tested and the heat issues of the AMD Neo under stress puts me off. It's still a great idea though.
I'm happy to see ThinkPad extending it's professional build and aesthetics into the netbook market, which is dominated by clamshells and make-up cases. The base features are acceptable, but I won't be a buyer until they release a dual-core and SSD netbook (ideally with a smaller battery option). If I had to choose tomorrow, though, between all of the available netbook models the X100e would be my choice.
Shouldn't bring up the 1810t, it's a consumer ultraportable. It also has a faster dual core processor, better battery life and only costs a bit more than this.
X100e is awesome!
