(Artwork by Jeff D'Ottavio) Here is a beautiful song written by none other than Irving Berlin and turned into a classic country ballad by Patsy Cline. I think it rivals some of her more famous songs for beauty and emotional impact. Always was recorded on February 5th 1963, exactly one month to the day before Patsy Cline was killed in a plane crash near Dyersburg, Tennessee. This video is dedicated to my wife Nancy.

  • I believe this is the over-dubbed version released in 1980 .. .not the original which appears on Patsy's "The Last Sessions" album. The original is a much better version, but it's always nice to hear Patsy no matter how they try to "recreate" her. Thanks for posting!

  • @FLBoy46 Yes, this is the 1980 version dubbed over orchestration to fit the music of that time. It's release almost single handedly revived her seriously sagging popularity and rekindled interest in her life and career. Many of the new converts probably then discovered the original. Thanks for the great comment.

  • Beautiful....I have always loved this song. Thanks for sharing.

There is only ONE Patsy, so why do you have pictures of impersonators playing in your video? Just wondering- I hope people don't think every photo is her.

  • @pfmandd I wasn't aware of it. Please point them out.

  • There are 2 photos that are not Patsy Cline. One at 0:43 and another at 1:17. Otherwise, great video!

  • @dlrunner121 What Do you mean most benign stranger?

  • @deavilanancy Have you considered setting some minimum standards for yourself?

  • @deavilanancy Frank Sinatra is okay, but his strong regional accent gets in the way of songs a bit.

  • With the magic of digital we can always be immortal. Before digital, Hollywood had warehouses full of film. One burned down and took 2 million feet of film out of history

  • Patsy Cline had a very timeless singing style, and this arrangement is evident. While Doris Day, Patti Page, and, yes, even Frank Sinatra sound "ol hat", Patsy is never corny in her vocal delivery.

  • How I wish she had not got into that plane with an over confident pilot and flown into a storm..

  • BEEST VOCALS IN COUNTRY

  • I don't see any imposters here pretending to be Patsy. Hard to not recognize a lady that pretty.
