While going through the locks at the lake Barkely dam, a huge Asian carp jumped into our boat and hit me while I was filming. It was not much fun getting that "dam" fish out of the boat not to mention the terrible smell on the carpet.
These Asian carp are the ones that they are spending millions trying to keep out of the Great Lakes. According to Wikipedia, these carp have become notorious for being easily frightened by boats and personal watercraft, which causes them to leap high into the air. The fish can jump 8--10 feet into the air, and numerous boaters have been injured by collisions with the fish. Reported injuries include cuts from fins, black eyes, broken bones, back injuries, and concussions. They grow up to 40 pounds.
