I absolutely love this original version, though the duet with Kenny is good too. I guess I'm partial to this one because I grew up listening to 80's and 90's country, as well.

'70s feel for sure. The phrasing and tone sound very similar to James Taylor's songs from that decade.

so true. the first version i heard was the Chesney duo, and it's all good and all, but dosen't quite embody the soul of this dated recording. almost has that 70's feel

I've enjoyed Macs music for years now. I prefer his version alone but Im glad that his and Kennys version may make more people aware of his music! My fave is "Back where I come from"!

Note the amazing harmony by some guy named Vince Gill. He should make his own records, he would do well.

This song makes me happy. Mac is even better now. What a soothing voice. I would have love to have heard him an Don Williams sing together

Jimmy Buffett's celebrity has been helping Mac for YEARS. Beig a parrothead I've known this one for awhile now.

I'm glad that Kenny's celebrity brings Mac to people's attention.
How'd you get a 45 with this song on it when 45s went out many years before this song was released?

@206Glenn HA! 45s were being made WELL into the 2000s. Practically every country song that charted in the 90s had a 45 pressed for Jukeboxes.
