New toy: DD-20 Gigadelay...

Just got home from a weekend away to discover my new Boss DD-20 gigadelay has turned up... whopee... so now I am going to mess about with it a bit to see what noises I can make.

The sound cut out just as I was getting into the swing of it... I'm using a boss adapter into the TU-2 tuner which allows you to daisy chain a bunch of other pedals, but for some reason this is tripping after a few minutes... maybe drawing too much power now, so could be I need a seperate psu for the giga-delay... but I'm not sure.

I've got a DD-3 before the DD-20 and an ME-33 multi-effects after it (the multi-effects I'm using are compression, amp simulation, another delay! and a pitch shift that layers in an octave higher - only sparingly though.)

For the first half I'm playing with the reverse mode, which I find really benefits from having the delay before it in the series... when you turn the effect level up to full you only get the reverse sound and none of the original, which is quite nice.

Afterwards I switch to the sound on sound mode, which enables you to do some simple looping.

I might do a more comprehensive video demo when I've fully familiarised myself with the pedal and gotten to the bottom of the power issue.

the sound on sound how many can you record on top of one?

It's unlimited... but you can't take layers away, always adding layers. I think the loop can be up to 21 seconds.

ok.. if I want tu use only manual and memories 1 and 2..

how can I program the dd20?

By manual do you mean tap-tempo? You can get an extra boss footswitch (FS-5L) which can then be dedicated to setting the tempo and so your memory settings can just be to change delay type.

hello..i just bougth a dd20..is there a way I coul only use 3 presets;manual;memory 1 y memory 2.. withoit using 3 and 4?

Is this a better pedal than the dd7, i think it is from what i've heard but on ebay the dd7 goes for more money than the dd20 so I'm a bit confused really. I'm getting rid of my dd3 and dont know which one to get. Any thoughts?
