@Hyoujinsama i guess my eyes were playing tricks on me, sorry.

@Hyoujinsama How much are the beach mats in US? I normally cut used japanese mats in the Dojo, $1.7 USD each. =)

I would love to try tameshigiri someday. Especially with a really sharp sword. I think a wakizashi is a good practice weapon especially for the indoors, obviously because it's shorter but also because it's lighter.

Nice vid, man!
As much as I love the katana, the wakizashi just seems to be a universal blade for me. Unfortunately, mine suffered serious damage in an accident (not cutting related) and unfortunately I have to replace mine. Just two questions: What wak is that and how does it differ from a katana for cutting tameshigiri? Thanks!

Did you just cut one handed? Very nice man!

Yep. I'll post more one handed cuts once I get more targets in.

You can make your own targets farely cheap. Just buy a bamboo floor mat, roll it up tight and tie it in for places. If you want thicker, use a longer mat or double them up. This is how they are made any way. God bless.

amboo floormats, like beachmats? That's the thing. I have to order my targets. I live in a ski resort town. ^_^ I generally use beachmats, as they are cheap and fun, but I ran out.
