.hack//G.U. Mac Anu Steam Bike glitch

A bug that allows you to sink under the streets of Mac Anu. To get in, go to the dead end on the right side of the Dome (right side if you're facing it), get on the bike, hold up on the stick, and run into the dead end toward the left side of the wall. Go as straight as you can, and once you're in the right spot you'll go below ground. If you do this incorrectly, you either won't sink or the game will spit you back up. The reason behind why this works the way it does (this is only my theory) probably has to do with the fact that PCs and NPCs don't pay too much attention to height, just like in the original games, but the Steam Bike does when it's in motion, so only the bike can take advantage of any holes in the ground. This would also explain why only the bike continues to sink once below ground but Haseo has no problems wandering around by himself.

I originally saw this on a webcam video elsewhere on YT, but my video is only of the entry method, whereas the other one plays around with the bug a bit. Sorry if the video quality sucks or whatever, this is my first upload to YouTube, and is more of an experiment on my part than an attempt at conveying info.

Does it matter what volume you play on when trying this glitch? Like does it only work in Rebirth or will it work in Redemption and Reminisce too? o.o

Valid question considering I never edited the description... this is a Rebirth-only bug unfortunately, at least for the English version. In the original Japanese, I've heard it can also be done on Reminisce, but I have no first-hand experience to back up that claim.

Of course; given the height of the Dome area compared to the rest of the town, technically you can start at or above the same height as the other areas of Mac Anu. Also, if you're close enough to the ground above when you summon the bike, you might warp upward above ground; you can use this to enter the Dome without using the door.

I don't know what use you have in mind for the glitch, so I can only hope this helps. :\

@LiBRa473 ...volume 1. You cannot get Haseo's second form in Volume 3 under normal circumstances, and ZED already stated it didn't work past Volume 1.
