Tecnicamente Sergei è mostruoso, come del resto Rubén Simeò, ma tutti sembrano scordarsi che è esistito un musicista di nome Maurice André, del quale ancora non è stata eguagliata la rotondità di suono, né la leggerezza, né il fraseggio. Oggi tutti si buttano sullo spettacolare, e va bene anche quello, ma provate ad ascoltare Le Canarì di Maurice André, il suo Carnevale di Venezia o il suo Hora Staccato: niente eccesso di virtuosismi, ma musica nella più pura accezione del termine.

Doesn't it say on his website that he used to play the piano but because of a car accident he started playing the trumpet and he had buch of teachers that's why he's so good. I think he started playing the trumpet at age 6 or something like that. On the other hand i started playing the trumpet at age 14 and still am 14.

anyways, in the CD booklet it says that they cut the piece so that it seemed like he didn't take a breath. He doesn't actually do circular breathing, which would be quite astonishing, if not to say impossible, while double tounging.

this is all just rumours , he s been playing trompet since he is very little , there was never a car accident , he just holds the trumpet this way.
