  • je suis sure que vous regretter le developement je prefere appelle ca la destructionc est vraiment triste ils devraient tout arreter et revivre comme avant plaese stop ne detruisser pas cette belle ilot ieland

  • @itzawrap could you perhaps tell us some of the missed problems then?

  • "Oh poor Pacific Islanders who are losing their atoll due to climate change." This short video says nothing and proves nothing. This is not story telling. President Tong is not a responsible source for the truth. After having spent 4 weeks on Tarawa, Kiribati this summer the problems of Kiribati far exceed the scope of most videos posted here on YouTube. It's about time someone stepped up to tell the Kiribati story with integrity.

  • @lnemec2 I never said the high water mark isn't rising. Don't be offended, I'm concerned for the residents also. But surely with your education you can understand the concept that a rising high tide mark on a Pacific atoll doesn't mean that the sea is rising? Before a government claims to the world that the sea is rising and the world must pay more foreign aid, the more likely cause of land subsidence must be disproven first. Absence of GPS land elevation survey data must be viewed with interest

  • @toranamunter dont be so stupid, i have completed a BSc degree in Environmental Science, I have family on Kiribati, it seriously offends me in what you are saying, go there and get a grip "toranamunter" its not good.

  • @toranamunter errr... actually the politicians in most low-lying areas of the world are screaming at the top of their lungs that the sea is rising way faster than they can deal with it.

Your supposition is completely wrong sir.

The sea IS rising, and these poor island nations are all paying the price!

  • What an absolute load of crap. I feel sorry for the people of Kiribati watching their homeland disappear. But how can anyone listen to this nonsense and not ask "What about ALL THE OTHER low lying land in the world"... These corrupt money grubbing politicans would have us believe the sea is rising in Kiribati and nowhere else. You'd have to be pretty thick to believe the sea is rising in Kiribati.

  • i was born there, brought up in australia and i'm still trying to get used to walking on rocks, bloody hell!!!!!!

  • wow.. wouldn't believe i'd see my grandpa Uriam n dad Torote here on youtube.

most of the ppl here are frm Maiana.. my island home.

it's sad to know what's going on in the world and how it is affecting our small island Nation.

thanks for this video..hope everyone hears our cry n help our country!

  • On holiday in the Dominican Republic we went to a deserted beach, It wasnt white sands I expected it was full of plastic that man tosses away and forgetts about plastic has a longer life than us, our great granchildren can go on an exotic holiday to bath in the sea of plastic.
