Found an old poem from High School and decided to turn it into a rap. Made a little video from a collection of photos, some taken by me in Belgium back in 05. Cheers
Lyrics:
Lets remember the fallen
the ones who answered the call when
no one else would
whether they fighting over misguided reasons
or believing this was the only path to freedom
got these mothers in tears as there sons n daughters leave
while his father puts on that brave face try's not grieve
while we look up and bask in that sun shine
there seeing bombs flying by on the front lines
they shooting one another over politics
and when they don't wanna work, they can't call in sick
from the troops from canada britain and australia
live forever the stories that your grandfathers tellin ya
or the new zealanders that stayed fighting up in flanders
fighting in a war thats giving no answers
so we shouldn't have just one day
where we sit and praise and pray for john mc rae
realize that the soldiers gotta live with it everyday
and every family involved and friends in every way
from WW1 to iraq and everything in between
peace can be had look at the christmas of 14
and nowadays more then ever when it seems to much to handle
remember the ones fighting can't change the channel
so when you look around cherish all that you see
Cuz they gave up there lives so your lives could be free
