These extracts, of those interviewed, are to promote the up-coming re-release of my documentary, Night Fields. Taking an evocative look at the social and working life on and around Yorkshire's World War Two air bases.
Originally produced as a freelance, five-part, series for local radio; an adapted version was released on cassette in 1990. Duration: 39 minutes. Now, a CD version is shortly to be released, created from the original open reel master. If you wish to be informed of the release date, please email info@theradiosurgery.co.uk.

Thank you for the opportunity to listen to 'Night Fields'. I found it fascinating and listened avidly right to the end. I did 24 operations in Lancasters over Germany, in early 1945, from 460 Squadron, based at Binbrook Lincolnshire, and I found time and again I was relating to the comments in your programme. So much "bull" has been disseminated about that era that it is refreshing to be reminded of it so authentically.
