The one thing that most people forget is that this is not about killing a bull. the entire reason for this nearly 1000 year old pageant is to represent the most basic of all struggles. man against nature and the struggle for life as well as the inevitable acceptance of death. animal cruelty.....this is just killing an animal for entertaiment..pure and simple.......plus the animal is tormented first and then killed......this is the most horrible and idiotic tradition since the gladiator fights in colosseum............this is no different than the illegal pit dog fights......it is the most barbaric and uncivilized form of antertaiment....it's not beutiful it's not art this so called tradition is just an excuse....this is just killing an animal for entartaiment.

Well prehpas if they didn't want to ban the sport they should reduce it. I mean thousands of bulls are slaughtered in the area yearly so instead of abolishing the sport completely why can't they just reduce the number of events being held?

What a lot of people don't realize is that bulls raised for bullfighting live a year longer on average than bulls raised for slaughter. Even more, they die with less pain than bulls killed in slaughterhouses - the bullfighter aims to kill them as painlessly as possible, and a bullfighter who fails to do so is jeered by the crowd. Bulls killed in bullfights are used for food, and a bull that shows bravery can be spared by the crowd to live a full, peaceful life.

No I like them. Why would we want to end such a rich and majestic tradition?  It's great, you should go to a live one, the tension is so thick you can hardly breath.
