Enio Ohmaye is the chief scientist of the EF Englishtown education technology team. He developed Englishtown's, UNext, Apple Computers and the Institute for the Learning Sciences (ILS) pioneer educational software. Graduated in Business Administration from the University of São Paulo, and having a master's degree in Computer Science from George Washington University, as well as a PhD in Artificial Intelligence and Education at Yale and Northwestern.
In this talk he tells us that whenever we embark on adventures, whether through travel, learning a new language, explore a different culture, it can open the people's minds, it can transform us. By using some personal adventures to illustrate what he wants to say Enio describes a kind of transformation, which is very important, that happens when we learn to choose how we will interpret the experiences we have.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. Enio Ohmaye é CXO (Chief Experience Officer) da EF, responde pelo desenvolvimento e inovação de produtos na empresa. Visionário técnico e cofundador do sistema de aprendizado on-line da EF, o Englishtown, Ohmaye é responsável por desenvolver e conduzir a inovação técnica por trás da plataforma de primeira linha do Englishtown.Com experiência de mais de 20 anos em educação tecnológica, ele começou seu trabalho como cientista sênior na Apple Computer. Um projeto colaborativo entre a EF e a Apple iniciou a construção da EF EfekaTM System, que hoje carrega a plataforma on-line Englishtown.

Nessa talk ele nos fala da transformação que vivemos quando embarcamos em aventuras, viajando, aprendendo uma liguagem, explorando uma cultura diferente. Usando suas aventuras pessoais como exemplo Enio descreve um tipo de transformação essencial que acontece quando se aprende a escolher como se interpretam as experiências e as memórias das experiências que temos.

No espírito de promover ideias que merecem ser espalhadas, o TED criou um programa chamado TEDx. O TEDx é um programa de eventos locais, onde o x= evento TED organizado de forma independente, que reúne pessoas para compartilharem uma experiência ao estilo TED. No TEDxESPM, vídeos chamados de TEDTalks e palestrantes ao vivo irão oferecer uma rápida mas profunda discussão e uma conexão com um grupo pequeno.
