Zelda Ocarina of Time Speed Run Segment 26

Not much to say about this one.

I decided to get it all in one segment, even with the annoying cutscene at the beginning.

I took an extra few seconds to set up the superslide. I had many attempts where I just figured I was 'close enough' but I would be rejected at the wall, so it's a little more precise than I thought.

I also left my hover boots on and didn't get the items ready for the next segment. I'm sure I will regret that later. Oh well.

Time: 8:53.37

FYI, if I run the next segment at Manocheese's speed (which it should be faster with the Ganon trick), I will end with a time around 2:16:30. I don't think that trick saves a minute and 30 seconds, so I may not beat 2:15. If I am really close, I may go back and do some of the early segments over to improve my time enough to do it. We'll see how this final segment goes first though.

You don't need any medallions except for Shadow and Spirit. Those are the ones that are checked for in determining if it's time to get the light arrows.

i have a question, how do you redo segments? I don't understand how that works. Do you do the game over again?

If you don't have a save file then yes. You would also have to make sure everything lined up for consistency. Item counts, time of day, etc.

shadow and spirit temples can be done in either order when normally progressing through the game. The creators realized this, but assumed that the timeline between forest-fire-water couldn't be bypassed (the shadow temple doesn't open until then)

if the cutscene that activates the "go to the temple of time" scene is after the spirit temple, why is it necessary to get the shadow medallion?
