Why do you dislike Americans?We just come there and pass out money for the slightest hospitality and improve your economy.I had a Panamanian roommate in school and he tried to get me to visit his family for holiday but I couldn't go and now I'd like to live in Panama.I'd be giving my dollars to Panamanian workers and vendors every day.You should like Americans who enjoy your country because most of them like you ;)

@zz4r I haven't been since 2004, but during my 4 months stay, it was dirt cheap. I remember taking busses across the country (45min) for $1.25, staying in a hotel room downtown for $50/night, among other examples. I live in Dallas, and I found the prices to be about 1/4 of what I'm used to here. Sometimes less.

My favorite places were the Pear Islands, Barro Colorado Island, and Bocas del Toro. If you have the opportunity to go, GO!

I've got a bunch of Panamanian friends but unlike most Americans, I speak fluent Spanish.

Geez...Americans like you are so dumb and uneducated.. read John Perkins' book: "Confessions of economic hitman" and you'll know exactly why Panamanians dislike Americans!

@rdteamo Por otro lado yo creo que sería muy difícil encontrar un lugar en el mundo puro y perfecto, donde todos sean honestos y amigables. Aquí el que hace esas vivezas probablemente es porque se está rebuscando, porque no le alcanza el dinero para vivir y como en toda ciudad metropolitana (que me parece que la mía se está convirtiendo en una), hay de todo un poco, gente buena, mala, honesta, deshonesta y de todo...

@sopmodm4 You are right. I am Polish-Canadian who plans to move to Panama after marriage with my Colombian fiancé next year.

I love Colombia and Panama. Panama is a great country unlike Canada to retire as life in Panama is less expensive than in overtaxed over expensive Canada.

People from Panama should love people like us who comes with money to build their beautiful country.
