@justtakeiteasy For your imgformation, it was destroyed by the Buddhists...Kasshapa had made his fortress ful of naked paintings, which is unacceptable in Buddhist rule, so they destroyed most of it..
Sri Lankan constructuions never fall off naturally, you can see that they are still there, with sement still on..

Yap, I agree with bakthi.
It's kinda wrong, the Lion should be sitting down, not standing.
Entrance should be through the Lion's mouth which is placed in between his paws.
