Crysis Trailer Competition Entry

My entry into www.incrysis.com's trailer competition. Loud drama, epic story and action packed! Chickens not included.

The Crysis community site www.incrysis.com wanted a video to show all who may not have seen Crysis before. The criteria:

+ Something that makes their jaws drop to the floor
+ Gives a good overview of what they can expect in the game.
+ Contains varied footage across the main game modes and environments
+ Including the inCrysis.com URL for extra brownie points ;)
+ Less than 5 minutes
+ No footage that shouldn't be public

I tried to consider the target audience - gamers. Some drool on graphics. Others consider gameplay more important. Still others, like myself, enjoy an epic storyline.

I steered clear off too many video effects so as not to distract from the content, showing off Crysis as it is. I tried to use footage that shows off the capability of the engine without slowing the pace or atmosphere. I also aimed to demonstrate the gameplay features and combat. I also really wanted the storyline to have a major impact, because Crysis is NOT all about pretty graphics and bendy leaves. I didn't use anyone else's music because some of the music Crytek have used is spot on for what they're trying to acheive - a blockbuster game.

I didn't expect to win with this one, but I was hopeful with version 2 (see it in my videos list.) Still, neither version made it to the top five. I think that was largely due to undermarketing, as I didn't spam links everywhere I could to it. At least, that's what I tell myself. ;) Thanks for your comment gedlongbow.

good movie but i dont like the game, in my eyes anything that comes out of EA is gonna suk, they always manage to disapoint me

I know what you mean. Fortunately EA are just the publisher. They've had no creative input on Crysis except for the vocal talent, I believe. Give Crysis a chance, or watch a friend play it, you may be surprised. :)

Theres 4 difficulties in this game if you pick the easy you'll play this game like in Unreal Tournament3. if you pick Hardest your gonna play it like ghoust recon.. and you can hear the enemies saying different stuffs in different dificultie :P

but damn this game is power hungry, you cant play it on slow coms

Then It Got Worst. It help open the portal for the alien...After you killed the 2 alien boss then you jump on the Vtol, and bla bla bla you got the suit signal of your other crysis teams and nomad went back to the island, and the japs naval flat are on their way.. sorry i have bad english.. but it sure looks like theres gonna be a "crysis2"

I Won This Game XD ill tell you how the end looks like :) Nomad and other 2 more crysis teams return back to the Us carier ship, well there were 5 of them but 2 was died..

then the alien come to attack the ship, and the leader of the crysis stole a Vtol and return to the island. the Mayor then Nuke the island

I like it alot its really nice, the editing was really good also. Im working on my own crysis video, its going to be like yours but im not going to use the trailers to make it, im going to take all my own game footage and use things like the cutscenes and some action clips to make it. Really nice job on the video, i likes the second one also.

yeah my bros obsessed with farcry lol and it looks pretty nuts on the Wii. my bro will probly buy this game anyway. cheers for the feedback!

have you ever tried farcry ??? this game is going to be awesome ! ea is just a name, they don't make the game. crytek is doing that, and they took the world with farcry. i believe that they're going to do that again with this game.
