  • I feel you cuz my Mohawk is dumb short for how long Ive had it. I need to get something happenin

  • @PurpleHazeMaster something happening like what cuz? whats the next step for you? I like you with the mohawk but I feel you on wanting change.

  • R u turnin ras for tru like culture wise or a u jus loxin hun??

  • @Cemone2006 lol I was just joking with my dad. Dad is Ras and he's been waiting for me to loc my hair for years. I was raised to respect the culture but I dont think I can fully commit to the lifestyle.

  • yay for locking! i'm still new to bein natural compared to ppl like u lol....i think if i ever lock it'll be later on in life! right now i have my hair in mini twists n i think loose hair becomes me better but i love locks! one of my aunts had locks! they were so gorgeous!

  • @NiaSoPurdy enjoy your natural hair! When I first BC'd I had no intention on locking. Once I went thru the stages of appreciating and learning about my hair my feelings towards locs changed. I never liked the way my hair looked with two strand twists so I wore my hair loose almost all the time. Now Im locing and its a totally different mindset that I have towards my hair.

Natural hair is so amazing :) Enjoy your journey hun <3

  • You sound just like me. I am tender headed too and as my loose natural hair got longer it was a beast to tame. But locking has been so carefree. I got a chance to toss all my combs. I can just get up and go unless I want to style.

  • congrats on your loc journey!!

  • welcome aboard, new dread! :-) funny you said this wasn't an overnight decision for you, 'cause it totally was for me. i had no intention of ever locing then one morning i wake up and decided to do it. have them in before the week was over.

as for your dreads thickening up and expanding over time, i think that really depends on your hair. my dreads are actually smaller than i began them. when i eas loose, i was one of hose folks whose twists actually shrunk up when wet, not expanded...

  • You are too cute, luv! This is such a great vid. Can't wait to watch your progress. You're lucky your mum is a loctician, but don't be intimidated -- you can do them yourself, too. I started mine 15 years ago with a similar length and I've loved them ever since. You can do so many fun things with them and they are such a powerful statement. Remember to be patient and don't over-do them with products. I've found that using natural stuff has been a real blessing to my "wild vines" ♥♥♥♥♥♥

  • I love the Mohawk! I just need to get some length on it somehow.

  • @naturally4us Thanks!!
