Actually, a number of weeks ago, in the NY Times, there was a pretty big article pushing for decriminalization. Not saying I don't agree with you that everything else he says is bull-fucking-shit, just saying, it does so happen that papers are becoming more "put on the forefront" of legalization(which is terrific!)
@kathmandoozle there are so many steriotypes it is impossible not to have at least some of them and some people treat steriotypes as absolutes while some treat them as statistical possibilities.
@kathmandoozle my point isn't that they don't follow their religious teachings, but they generally haven't read the WHOLE bible, many atheists have actually read the bible this means that atheists, who are not part of their belief system usually know more about the christian belief system than christians do. and my other point is that NO-ONE is incapable of steriotyping, people think the british say "ello' gov'nor", sociaty seems to think females are weak and males are evil.
@doombybbr If they don't actually know the bible or the teachings of Jesus, they probably aren't Christians. Many people claim to be one thing, but are not... therefore, giving a bad example for the people who are. Like this guy^ I could stereotype all Atheists as being "overly-zealous" or "religious".. but, its not true, because I know many Atheists who DON'T try to preach the sermon of No-God to everyone. Stereotyping any belief system/class/race can lead to fear or hatred.
@kathmandoozle most christians have never read the bible or bothered to look up the actual scientific evidence for evolution(as many christians are creationists), and besides, humans instinctively label things, for example we label chocolate as tasty, even though not all chocolate is tasty.
I wonder if this guy knows he's stereotyping Christians, therefore being a hypocrite. Not all Christians are conservative, close-minded, fundamentalist, or ignorant. Just like not all drug users are criminals or addicts or lazy. I call it. Hypocrite.
