@MCArchangel777 taxes really is on the land you have. If you buy land in an expensive neighborhood, yeah your taxes will be high. If you have land in rural areas or less expensive areas, then the taxes will be cheaper. The main cost to home ownership are the mortgages, and if they are high, then that is a big burden. You can't raise the price on old shipping containers anytime soon. There are far too many of them sitting around and being a huge clutter. They need to move those.
The problem is that once there is more demand for these kind of homes, and more contractors realize that this business is "booming", the costs of building/buying these types of homes will go up, and so will the taxes. The purpose of having a home like this will be completely invalidated. At the end of the day, businesses, real estate, and the tax man always find a way to get their grubby little hands into your wallet.
