Rocky Elsom vs Leicester H Cup final 2009

Rocky Elsom smashes Alesana Tuilagi, running over him. Usually a Tuilagi family specialty (Alesana did the very same thing to Shane Horgan in this match) Rocky gives him a taste of his own medicine.


This amongst other things like breaks, line out steals and general game changing plays marked one of the greatest ever H Cup individual displays. Needless to say he was awarded man of the match, as he has been 12 times this season.

That's rubbish. Super 14 player of the year 2008,Aussie player of the year 2007 and 2009, and the Aussie captain now as well. He's on a par with the best like McCaw,Pocock, Burger and Brossouw.

Complete and utter legend, took that HC final by the scruff of the neck and bluntly refused to lose. The best player in the world at the minute. I shudder to think of him playing for the wallabies again but if he must go he has the blessings and thanks of all of Leinster behind him. Thanks Rocky!

I think you need to do your research buddy. Rocky Elsom has not won any of those awards. George Smith won the Australian Super 14 player of the year in 2008, and Nathan Sharpe and Matt Giteau won the John Eales medal for Australian player of the year in 2007 and 2009 respectively.

Rocky Elson pulled a heart-string for the Brumbies this season and hasnt really been spotted. Cant believe he is Australian Captain . . wish he would go back to the Northern Hemisphere!
