@00Avenger17 You definitely took his response too personally. I didn't read it like he was attacking you or patronizing you. His answer was fair and concise, and in some parts of our country, very true. Whining and begging were maybe not the best choice of words. Practicality is different for different people. Humans were designed to use tools to survive and this is a way to carry A LOT of them. And sure, it's a jacket with lots of pockets, but there was thought put in to placing them.
I think his condescending tone was in response/reaction (to what he perceived as) yours. Practicality is relative. Going on a nature walk, obviously one is not going to need most of this. Still, if America falls and the wolves come knocking on western Europe's door (trust me, they're waiting) you might want to be armed as best as you can be to protect yourself and loved ones. 200 million dead by a few out of control leftist monsters in the 20th century backs up that suggestion.
@00Avenger17 Patronizing? Immature? I gave a thought out explanation based on a great deal of experience. I did not adress YOU in particular did I? I gave reasons. Your reply is nothing but a red herring. How does your accusations of my character, true or not, have anything to do with my points? Is that seriously your position? I think YOU are the one implying some kind of superiority by saying you know better with your martial arts & knife. Reply if you must but bring SOMETHING compelling.
@newcoyote Your response to quite a simple question is a little patronising and gives me a sense that you feel you are superior in some way. Isn't that slightly immature? Your not so subtle hints of me "whining and begging" when I'm in danger is a little laughable. I live in Norway. I go out regularly and love nature to the full and respect it. However merely talking from a practical perspective this is ridiculous. Good day to you Sir.
@00Avenger17 ... tend to make fun of us who are prepared are always the ones who come whining and begging for help when a real emergency occurs. It is like clock work, every time. Keeping a low profile is just a good idea. It gives less opportunities for the countless idiots to stick there nose where it does not need to be. Being prepared is more than just carrying a lot of gear. It is about having a mature attitude and not being a show off.
@00Avenger17 Well you asked a year ago so who knows if you're still around. Anyhow it's always a good idea to be discrete. What people don't understand, they fear. They will make up in their heads why you carry what you do then attack that rather than actually try to understand. They freak out especially when they start making conclusions based on assumptions. Survival gear>weapons>danger>call the cops. Or they will make fun of you."Why do you need all that Rambo?" The people who... continued
