It's sleepie time down South - Carlings 2007
This tune was the signature tune of the Louis Armstrong All Stars. The Carling family do a fine job in their interpretation. Now leader Gunhild sings a chorus with the help of an megaphone. I still have to get used to this. Her natural voice is so pure and emotionally heartwarming, however her musical timbre is still coming through in her vocal, however she then takes the tune's bridge with a spectacular trombone solo after which the tunes settles down with an exciting ending.
Hans Carling trumpet, Gunhild trombone, Max clarinet, Gerd piano, Ulf drums and Aina banjo also with a new bass player.
Recorded in June 2007 at the Stockamollan jazz festival in Sweden
