My Dell 9000 computer with touch screen just goes crazy flashing at me. Dell folks wasted 4 and a half hours of my time two nights ago running a CHKDSK program that covered 5 sections and took all that time. At the end, a message flashed on the screen and neither the tech nor I had time to read it. I'd already worked with them for over 15 hours on other problems with this one-year old machine. Then this happened. I am at the end of my rope!

In late May 2010 I bought a new Dell Studio XPS 9000 with an Intel Core i7-920 processor with 16GB of DDR3 SDRAM running at 1060MHz. The monitor is a 21.5" Dell SX2210T Full HD Multi-tourch Capable Monitor with integrated 2.0 Megapixel Webcam, Dual Microphones; 21.5" VIS. Running Windows 7 Professional on this 64-bit machine.

I spent last week (about 15 hours) with the Dell techs going over major problems with the computer, including its refusal to load Microsoft updates. We had to reformat the HD and add back all my programs. We were almost there when the screen problem happened. I've been in such a funk since then, I haven't even called them back. I have a 1-year service support package that I bought for $200 to service ANY Dell computer or product so I will call them back very soon.

  • From the author of the video - I would appreciate any suggestions or helpful comments. Please don't trash Dell, that doesn't help me get the problem(s) resolved. I would appreciate constructive/creative suggestions or a sharing of a similar experience you might have had, and how you dealt with it. Thanks - Tom

  • @tcourbat first thing you wanna do is open this screen up and look for any bad capacitors or even the connection between your vga wire might be loose on the inside only one way to find out
