  • if it weren't for the greeks that stood their ground at thermopylae, persia would have conquered greece and destroyed rome while it was still a fledgling nation, and the world we live in today would have been very different. so thank the brave greeks that stood at the hot gates, and stared death in the eyes to protect their own nation, and unknowingly, protecting ours.

  • @GeneralVert31 Actually they were 299 spartans... with some other greeks ppl. but as this was inspired on the comic it was just the 299 spartans.

  • @rpmorte7215 agreed i was simply joking about the tone he used

  • @TheRealTingAling lol @ you thinking that the persians portrayed in this movie are actually real life persians. and if the persians did win whats to say that it wouldnt of been a better place? you cant just speculate and say the world would of turned to shit if persia won, unless it happend then and there you cant say anything about it

  • @redhaisee it meant alot more to be a man then, taking care of your kids wasnt considered your duty.. it was your responsibility... man up

  • the only reason i watched this film was for its intense battle and action scenes and good acting by Gerard Butler. i did not watch this for historical reasons and i don't believe the film is so anyway, being that his is generally written by the victors. Seeing as my European ancestors were running around in forests and picking their noses at the time, it is not in my position to criticize either the Persians or the Greeks.

  • @TheRealTingAling That's taking the speculation a little far isnt it?

  • @GeneralVert31 Yeah, that's the guy who lost an eye and i believe he's the one who leads the Battle at Plataea

  • Actually, 299 fought. Leonidas sent one spartan home to tell the news that the rest had died to spare the greeks and Sparta. Yet, the people of sparta blamed Dillo (something like that,) the returning soldier, for their defeat and death of Leonidas's army. Dillo died honorable in order to gain the respect of his people in a future battle.
