I don't really see Lois as a second choice. Clois has just recently been developing into romance while Clana has been fully developed. Clark chose Clana because it was familiar while Clois to him was still up in the air and would have been a gamble. He chose the safe road but it was not an informed decision. That's how I see it anyways. I think Infamous will remedy everything. He'll be able to explore all aspects of Clois and find it better.
