the knewton thingy should work together with the khan academy instead of building two similar things at the time.

12:48 - 13:20 This. Standardized tests are the cancer of the education system. Well, maybe just one of the many kinds of cancers that are actually affecting it. But an important one.

    Learning gives creativity

    Creativity leads to thinking

    Thinking provides knowledge.

    Knowledge makes you great.

Khan Academy is not everything. Check out Udacity for example. I find its courses much better constructed.

I think not only are children different in how well they learn and what they learn best but also in how they learn best. Not every child is going to be best served by saying "this is the topic, go figure it out for yourself." I think many important steps are described in this video but one that's missing is to individualize even the teaching method itself, maybe even on a subject to subject basis (if there will be such things as traditional subject matters in the school of the future).

We're never going to find a perfect solution to the education problem. In two hundred years, we're going to be asking what do we do?

a diversity of approaches will probably help us get "there" faster. Let them work at it. Or bring your own game and show it to us.
