This February planting of Broccoli seeds is captured through time lapse photography. The DSLR was positioned slightly above and approximately two feet from the seed tray on a stable stand. The exposure button was locked, yielding intervals slightly shorter than one second. Manual focus in tandem with manual settings are best to reduce flicker (a strobe-like effect caused by wandering aperture speeds and changing shutter speeds). An aperture greater than f1/8 and shutter speed greater than 1/100s are recommended. Importing photos in chronological order into imovie is one option for video creation/editing. However, frame duration is limited to .1 second minimum and may result in slower than desired playback. For speedier playback in imovie: export movie to desktop, import .m4v back into imovie as a new project, and slide speed towards rabbit image in 'clip inspector.'

Similar strategies may be implemented using varying intervals to create time-lapse videos on any number of subjects...enjoy!
