Before I get another DMCA filed against me, I'd like to say I have put this online as I belive this can be counted as fair use, as it criticises Warner Bros. Remastered DVD version. I really hope someone at Warner sees this, and by the time the Blu-ray reissue is released, the audio problems that were encountered on the DVD release have been resolved!

Another clip from the legendary festival, taken from the same VHS of Channel 4 from, Friday 6th May 1988!

Audio remastered as best I could (there was a lot of hiss from the original tape) still pretty good condition though

  • This sounds soooooooo good to my ears! I love Quartette's ESP C S N & Young.

  • I believe Young hadn't joined by this point, but it still sounds great :-D

  • He was there. He just wasn't filmed. Check out around 0:34 after "...Nash" and the crowd audio gets pumped up -- to wash out the announcer's "and Young".

  • Well, he says "and Nash", but from what I've read, Young WAS there, but requested he wasn't filmed by the camera men

  • lost my first love Dwayne Feb 26th 1983 he was 17 killed in a car accident..this was our song!!! xoxox forever baby!!

  • I've heard this song like a hundred times. EVERY single time it brings tears to my eyes and my heart starts to jump. Fantastic voices, incredible harmonies. Like Stills said then "We just love you, we just love you".

  • @ianhawdon - Just to clear things up, they did an acoustic and an electric set. Neil joined Stephen Stills for two songs near the end of the acoustic set ("Mr. Soul" and "I'm Wonderin'"). He did not get announced at the beginning of this song (this was the first song of their set). Neil joined them for the entire electric set. He was (and still is) a strong believer in not distracting the performers and the audience with cameras, and that was mainly why he did not want to be filmed.

  • I looked into this whole Neil Young issue at Woodstock. Young did not play on the acoustic set, but played on the electric set. The song Sea of Madness is his, They played a lot more than what is on the album. Neil refused to be photographed, telling the photogs, he would smash them over the head with his guitar if they photographed him. He had an issue or something going on at the time

  • Awesome ! Loved it!!!

  • Love it. Thanks for posting!

  • LAW ~ you're a doll...you know I love this song!!

  • Youg WAS there... he was playing in Buffalo Springfield at the time and did a few songs with CS&N.

  • I acctually got the pleasure to see them in my hometown a couple years back, and some lady shut the whole show down by saying that a little girl was missing and it wasn't true.....sadly the show did not go on....but what i did see of them was great

  • Neil Young came up on the stage at the beginning of electric setlist of the band, on the acoustic set young is missing
