  • It's always amazing and is always interesting to me, how people want say that the churches of.christ are a part of a denomination. But their churches are and will never and never been mentioned in the bible. People never get upset with people who taught them the false doctrine, they have learned. This type of fustration should be redirected towards bible study, searching the scriptures for self to see if these things are true. Like The Bearens in Acts.

  • This is the most pathetic excuse for legalistic trot I've ever heard! What does this have to do with the Mercy of God? I'm thankful that I do not serve your god.... that one with the little "g"... the one someone else created in his own mind and brainwashed YOU with. Do you really think that the Father of all creation is going to toss his creation in Hell because of this nonsense? Shame on you for receiving mercy, and then withholding that same mercy from others with your self-exalted self!

  • @Lakeside54321 I could write a book on examples of people from the church of christ denomination (and yes it is just as much a denomination as any other) who have told me how condemned I am because I dare to attend a church other than c of c! These condemners couldn't tell me the first thing about what the church I would be attending at that time teaches! Condemned for nothing else but a name? Pure Trot!

  • @Lakeside54321 Religion in general is all about people in ALL denominations thinking it is their God given duty to drag sinners to the feet of Christ and ask him for permission to stone them with scripture! Just like the scripture lawyers who brought the woman caught in adultery! The "Gospel" is "Good News" not condemnation. It certainly isn't about Christ saving people and then turning around and putting them in bondage to more rules and laws they couldn't follow in the first place!

  • I am so thankful to the Father that he called me OUT of this ungodly legalistic system called the churchachrist! Fred... I want you to listen to the condescending way in which you say your empty words..."can you find the name methodist.. iiinn the Bible?" You are just like every other Cof C preacher... a clanging symbol... condemning people to hell for attending a church with a different name on the door! Christ has NEVER been about condemnation... Get off your self exalted position!

  • @psxwarrior A lot of it has to do with how some people in a church thought that the bible wasn't being followed or that people were twisting what the bible said to be true. This lead to divisions and it would happen over and over. The idea of "I think you are wrong so I will start my own church" is what caused most of the denominations. Also in some studies it seemed that every 70 years or so this would happen. that is as much as I know.

  • @Imaginefree69 The bible is not vague. Its teachings are clear. People branch of to create their own sect either because where they were contradicted what the bible says or they want to twist what is said so they can do what they wish. This is not right in any form or fashion. I believe in the bible as a whole and as the truth. What is teaches I do my best to follow. It is sad that people argue over denominationalism.

  • The Bible is so vague, so large,

    and so filled with inconsistencies

that you can ALWAYS make it say whatever you like.

That's why even though Jesus himself

prayed that his followers would be 'one',

there are now nearly 40,000 official denominations (divisions)

of christianity, each of which is convinced

that all the others are wrong

and that they alone have the Truth.

Even God apparently can't make christians "one."

  • Death from the sky, you won't survive. Dark clouds will fill the skies. Vaporizing all your prayers, burning them away. A funeral held for the lies of christanity. All humanity will soon learn, That jesus christ shall never return. Final day of christianity. Leviathan rises from the raging sea. Seize power and glory, Lucifer is calling. I am Satan, master of the Earth. Condemn your souls for all theyre worth. You will bow down and worship me. I am your savior for all eternity.
  • I have a question. Where do all of these different denominations originate from? I know the one I'm from is incorporated in Tennessee, but are the rest of them chartered in the US? I know the chatholics come from Rome, though.
