Two deleted/edited sections of the Animaniacs short "Broadcast Nuisance" by Gordon Bressack and Charles M. Howell IV.

I had made a slide-show version of this years ago (without the Slappy Squirrel scene), and have been meaning to do a full-motion video version.

Unfortunately, the newer drivers for my video card have broken its capturing capability, so I had to resort to pointing a camera at the monitor.

In these original scenes, the Warners are more vicious to the Sam Donaldson parody anchorman, who was originally called Slam Fondlesome instead of Dan Anchorman (voiced by the late Phil Hartman). Some of these scenes remained in the final U.S. broadcast version, but with less vicious dialog, e.g., "Why TV newsmen are cheap" instead of "Is Slam Fondlesome a big fat dope?", and "I dunno; maybe he wants us to direct" instead of "If he doesn't like us now, wait'll he gets a load of this!"

The electrocution scene, while cut out of the episode entirely for the U.S. broadcast, was shown in a Fox Kids promo song.

  • this aired in Australia recently without any edits

  • @thelogoarchive Yep, the international broadcasts have the original cut.

  • Can you please email me this video file?

This owns the episode that replaced it!

  • @InvaderWakkoReborn I don't know if I actually saved this video file after uploading it. I have the audio track on my PC, and the video on VHS tape.

  • @Keeper1st You have the original on VHS?

idk if i understood correctly, but if so, there is a way to put VHS videos on a computer

i'm not sure how though lol

  • @InvaderWakkoReborn I don't have an analog capture device. I have now a device to copy VHS to DVD, and I can capture DVD on the computer. I just haven't done any VHS-to-DVD copying yet...

  • It's funny that with all the stuff Animaniacs got away with, "big fat dope" got taken out.

    I love this show.

  • Because Vertically Enhanced Post-Children have a bad habbit of loosing perspective when taking Vertically Challenged Pre-Adults. I would almost say they become Emotionally Diverse.

  • @Keeper1st I already taped the re-airing of this episode (I'm gonna get it converted to DVD).

    ;)

  • i like this one much better then the edited one besides thay have done a lot worse to there " friends"

  • Well right before the bulk logan thing changed, dan said he gave up.

  • @UnanimousDelivers Say, how about Vertically Maturing Pre-Adults/Post-Children? :)

  • Why didn't the censors just consider banning this episode instead of making pointless edits to scenes that aren't even that terrible?! Sometines, I just wonder why censorship even exists (for entertainment, at least).

  • The are a bit violent for their usual routine...what was this writers problem with this guy?
