In regards to Germany, the public opinion is often the highest support of promoting the nationalist idea of uniting the country...It wont be a doubt that this financila greek reck could flash Germany back to action. The country is been doing great technologically influencial in the region....Whether it will lead the whole zone remains to be seen...

I sincerely hope Merkel`s days as a chancellor will be over soon.

Isn't Germany dependent upon the Russians for natural gas?

Politics is about future, not about today !
Germany is a very powerful country and play very positive role in EU and world today. History, is very ugly in that part of Europe, NPD had almost 10% votes in the eastern lands.
Ukraine..... Until Gas will be hot commodity, Russia will not give up on Ukraine. Eventually Ukraine will split in to 2, western Ukr. will not survive on it's own. They may join EU as an autonomous Polish region.

I don't understand. There is nothing to suggest that public opinion in Germany is for imperialism in Europe. Or does popular sentiment not matter and we are mindless fools following our political elite's orders?
You're giving mountains too much credit these days. The Caucausus did not hold back the Russians; they still pulverised Georgia.
On Ukraine... you really think the ethnic Ukrainians of Ukraine which compose half the country will just sit back and let their country go fully pro ru

this is just the incompetents of the west.
how do expect ukraine to be on your side when russia can just shut of the gas during the winter?
DUMB!
if you abandoned your failing zionist project in the middle east and cut a deal with iran and got a pipeline from iran through turkey and into europe then it would be a totally different story.
We have to find better fundations for the EU and we have to build a stronger Europe with those new fundations. So be it.

It's not that Germany has imperial ambitions it's just Germany is forced to act a certain way because of geopolitical forces. Germany is not going to give money to Greece without conditions, the country has to ensure the money it gives is well spent. As a result Germany is going to set certain conditions on Greece and Greece will have to abide by those conditions. As a result Germany is forced to act authoritative. It's not like they want to but they have to.
