I own one and it is extremely practical, roomy and comfortable,nice to drive and the 120 Turbo engine is more than adequate for driving on all types of roads. I have carried an 87 year-old in the back, access was very easy with the flex doors. Child seats are easy to fit and I have taken large amounts of garden rubbish to the tip. The new Meriva is designed for people who are serious about cars not because they are a boy racer but because they live in the real world.

@numbtesticle Sorry for the long delay replying to you. I've used the Meriva on round trips of over 500 miles and have found it relaxing to drive, stable on motorways and flexible around country lanes. It seems to be a car that is a competent performer under different conditions and excelling as a load carrier with only two up. Love the higher driving position.

@isokessu The doors lock automatically when the car is in motion. There will be severeal warning lights and sounds if one door is not completely closed. But even half closed, it won't open, even if you use the handle. The system was constructed with help from BMW and is similar to the system in the Phantom.

if you open the retro style backdoor on highway, isn't that pretty dangerous then? Ö_ö or if the door doesn't close when ice or dirt blocks it and it opens itself.. Can you even close it anymore?
