From the Disco Diva that brought you "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real), this time he funks it up a notch with this club banger. From the 1982 album entitled, "Do You Wanna Funk", this is the remix to "Tell Me". RIP Sylvester.

  • i like the original better. good bass, though.

  • Of course you would, you put it on your page. That's being bias LOL

  • lol. noo, i'm not bias. i just think a synth bass goes better with this song than a slap bass. i still enjoy the remix, but i'm curious why they would release the remix on the reissued cd and not the original...?

  • I'm just kidding LOL. You know though, I wonder that, too. I really don't know, hell they could have put it as a bonus track or something. Both versions are on point!!!

  • Who mixed this?

I think they were going for a Patrice Rushen "Forget me Nots" feel, which why they switched to slap bass. The last minute of this is slammin'. Poor Sylvester got spanked by the "real Divas", though. They're just got so much more vocal control (and subtlety) with their rifting chops (5:28-5:39) and delivery :-) Them girls (Chaka and her brother are on this, btw, 4:27, 4:44) pounched on his ass "proper", in that turn around! LOL! U don't mess wit them "church divas", I tell ya!

  • LOL You are too much!!!!

  • The gays had Key West in 1978, I was there. Divine also lived there and Sylvester came to visit Divine regularly. Since us gays basically had the island to ourselves, it was a huge party. The clubs would play his songs constantly when he was in town, and he would be out on the dance floor with the rest of us. On one of these visits, Sylvester walked out of the club drunk with Divine and started singing Mighty Real walking down street, with Divine dancing. The crowd went wild. Those memories!

  • This mix is da BOMB!

  • J'adore ce tempo Basse et Vocal electrisant!*******

  • @Thunderstormwitch Thanks.BTW, I was just kiddin' about him gettin' spanked by Chaka and Gavin Christoper (Chaka's brother). I found out recently (well maybe a year ago, now) that Narada Michael Walden was the driving force behind this remix, and that's TM Stevens on bass.

  • BASS LINE IS SICK!

  • I heard this for the first time on Pandora!!! Sylvester NEVER ceases to amaze me!!

  • WOW!!! I LOVE HIM!!! SYLVESTER was my guide to the amazing world of disco and his music was the key that opened (no, to be correct, he actually kicked in) the closet door for me, in the early 80-ties. His voice is soooo unique and I really hope and pray that he's an angel now... That would be the only reason I want to go to heaven!!!

  • Love it baby!!!

  • Oh man I'm sooo jealous I wasn't around when she was alive, I heard her in that eddie murphy film "trading places" and i've been a fan ever since, rip diva disco queen

  • 3:42 BOMBEEEEEEEEEEE !!!!!!!!!

  • @bourgeoisbrats OMG you described it just right. I love "me some" Sylvester. And you were right, the 'church divas" brought it! Brilliant track!

  • I sang with GOTHAM at the same time as Syl and he invited us onstage to do the number with him. The first time we saw him was at The City in SF doing a drag evening of Josephine Baker Such a generous gifted man.

    RIP Syl
